There are three basic categories of information we collect:
When you use our services, we collect information that you share with us. Through the website or our mobile application, we may collect information that can identify you such as email address, location, IP address and other personal information. When you provide personal information through our Service, the information may be sent to our servers for improving our product and marketing purpose. We never share your personal information with other users.
In order to register as a user with GameOfChat, you will be asked to sign in using your Facebook login. If you do so, you authorize us to access certain Facebook information consistent with your privacy settings in Facebook as but not limited to your public Facebook profile, your name, gender, email address, friends. We will never publish anything on your behalf and none of your contacts will ever know you are using our services. The facebook login provides better security for our users and helps our marketing efforts.
Because we match you with people that are closer to you, we are collecting your location, based on your network or GPS. We are not storing your precise location in our system. You may also add photos to your profile, which need you to grant access to your photos/medias/files on your mobile device. If you share the app with your contacts, we may require access to your phonebook.
As we provide a video chat service, you will need to allow access to your webcam or camera to be able to use GameOfChat. The camera and microphone of your device will be used as part of the video chat service and is needed for both users to have. You must be aware that your surroundings will become visible to your correspondent as you use our service and that other user could take print screens and use that information against you.
GameOfChat requires a direct connection to be made between your computer(or mobile device) and the other user's computer (or mobile device). To do this, we use a P2P video chat system called WebRTC that is also used by Google's Hello among many companies. Although we do not show your IP address, no system is perfect and it is possible the other users could know your IP address.
In between matches, you will get asked two simple questions to help the matching process. We share what you have in common with your match as you video chat. We are also storing those results to achieve better matches between chatters and we may use this information to deliver better marketing and services.
GameOfChat provides a unmoderated video chat mode. You can report the other users and we collect information and the chat length and such, but no video is recorded or moderated and you have to proceed at your own risk. The information we record includes your username, a timestamp, IP addresses of you and your match, and tokens spent during the conversation. Video chats are made through a direct p2p connection between your device and the other user's device. We are not storing any video conversation between you and your match, however, we are storing the text chat conversations. Conversations which are flagged as suspicious may be screened and stored indefinitely to monitor further actions by the user and any misbehavior as part of GameOfChat usage in general.
We do not share your personal information with anyone, we will only use it internally to make our product better and to help marketing. We take security measures to help safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access and disclosure. However, as no system can be completely secure, we cannot promise that your information and communications will always remain secure.
Be also careful about the information you share with others chatters: It is also your responsibility to not share any personal information while using our video chat service. Although we do not store your video chat conversation, you must be aware that your correspondents could use a third-party software or service to record your conversations.
We may collect information that other users provide about you when they use our services. For example, if another user allows us to collect information from their device phonebook—and you’re one of that user’s contacts—we may combine the information we collect from that user’s phonebook with other information we have collected about you. We may also obtain information from other third-party sources, and combine that with the information we collect through our services.
